Has anyone experimented with vibration control devices under a Reel to Reel deck? If so, what kind of benefits can be gotten and what do you suggest.

Thanks

I have my old heavy Aiwa RtR sitting on top of a thin piece (~ 1/8") of black neoprene. I have no issues with vibration.

I use a Pioneer 701 and the dang thing's so heavy I don't think I have a lot of vibration issues.

I have mine on a symposium Ultra platform, just because I have a
spare one around, but really can't hear any difference....

That's good enough for me.

When I use my "don't stress out the tapes" Tascam reel to reel I use Symposium Roller Balls in a double design under the machine itself, bypassing the Tascam feet. Works great as you can see, especially on this wood surface..

Click here and scroll down to the second picture. You can see the roller ball in the middle of the two rollerblocks. Makes a nice suspension that way.

I don't think I have ever had any vibration-related problems with any of my 3 open-reel decks.

So you carefully compared "with and without" and found no difference? Lucky; saved yourself some scratch!
