I've just seen the promo film (or video?) for Stealers Wheel "Stuck in the Middle With You" on TV and it looked like Mal Evans dressed in a dark suit eating spaghetti.
Anyone know if it could have been him?

he kind of resembles him
by the way, why not include a link to the video (

It's possible, the song was recorded at Apple Studio.

I forgot about YouTube!
And as I saw it on TV I thought I wouldn't be seeing it again...he kind of resembles him

That video is better than some of the 1980s videos.

Thanks for the leading me to this clip. I've never seen it. The guy who resembles Mal seems a bit too heavy (unless he put on significant weight after his appearances in Let It Be).
I also never knew the song was recorded at Abbey Road.
You can learn alot here.

Not meant to be a thread crap, but...where are the audiophile reissues of Stealers Wheel? They sure deserve an audiophile reissue treatment. Their short, 2 or 3 year run produced some fantastic music.

Which one is Gerry Rafferty in the clip?

Tough call....kinda looks like dear old Malcolm, but if I had to answer now, I would say no.
Man...what an uncomfortable video! :D

I agree,Mal (or who we think is Mal)looks way too heavy...really heavy..too fat in the face, but what's even stranger is that there is no sight of Gerry Rafferty in that clip as well as the other clip from UK TV of another track ...could he have already went solo by the time these clips were made or did he just not show up when these clips were filmed...I don't know but I see no GR in that clip or the other.

He had left the band and Egan carried on. Something like that... the history is sorted and I'm sure someone knows chapter and verse about it.
I only found one clip of Egan and Rafferty together, at least as far as You Tube videos go. And Rafferty is barely on camera. Either they like the way Egan looked better or Rafferty didn't want to be filmed. It seemed odd.

No way. Mal was never that obese.
100% not Mal - no question about it.
Still sounds like Bowie doing all the vocals on Fame to me though.......

I knew he left the band but that would mean the video for "Stuck..." must have been filmed alot later...I'm guessing he was just mia when they filmed that clip...it's from the first album...he recorded the next album too.
