Just giving this a test run. Sample recorded on a B&O TX-2 linear tracker, with Creek OBH-8 phono amp. Comments are welcome.

The midrange is way too forward

It lacks bass

Your turntable is running a bit fast.

Thanks for the comments, Grant. I also thought the mids were kinda hot, but the bass seems ok on my system. I'm thinking that's the way the record was cut. I'll look into checking the speed. I'm pretty sure I've never adjusted it.

I'm sure you have this cut somewhere. If you'd be a bud and record this for me as a comparison, it would be greatly appreciated. If you have time, that is.

I'll have to dig through several boxes to find my "Too Hot To Handle" LP. It may take a long while.

What I can say is that your sample is running somewhere around .5% too fast. This has been my experience with B&O and Rega tables.

If you used the original Epic or GTO pressing, the LPs are packed with bass. That was producer Barry Blue's style. In fact, it's hard for me to call "Always And Forever" a ballad because it packs such deep bass and kick drum.
