Just curious if we have any McIntosh music server owners among the Mc heads...
Had mine for a while and it's pretty cool. Does a few fun things that even the Sooloos does not...
What have your experiences been?
Looking at the MS750 owner's manual, it appears that they put a lot of thought into the user interface. From what I can tell, it looks as if the "high end" way to install it is to use an LCD monitor with a touch screen for the user interface. I think this would be cool, a little LCD/touchsccen on a table or stand next to the listening chair. Don't think I'll have an extra $6000 to spend on a music server in the near future, but I'm hoping that eventually enough of the software pieces will be available for linux that I can put something together. One user interface that I currently like is xlobby, but I don't like the fact that it requires .NET and the Windows bloatware, as Windows seems to need about 10X the CPU that it should need for just semi-reliable audio playback. Linux is rock solid on much more modest hardware.
Does anyone here have an MS750 yet? If so, what do you like and/or dislike?
