I hope this is in the correct forum.

A colleague and I are trying to import some still photos into the end of a short iMovie film

We followed the Helpfile and went through the import process BUT ...
the resultant images are odd - they show only the top right hand corner of the jpg import in the bottom left hand corner of the image, the remaining three quarters of the image being black.

We don't know what we're doing wrong - anyone able to offer help/guidance please. I'd be very grateful

What version do you have?

Is the image you are referencing in the 'photos' area, the 'clips' area, or the 'timeline'?

From what you describe, I'll assume it's in the 'photo' area. If it is, you can just 'grab' the image with the mouse, and move the image around - however you want it to look. Depending on your settings, you might even have a zoom slider just under the picture.

I rarely use the 'import; to do what you're trying to accomplish - I usually just drag a photo into the 'clips' area and input the duration I want it to show on screen. Then you can add your effects transitions right from the timeline.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much - I don't know what version it is. I'm at home now and it's on a work machine. Will try this tomorrow morning.
