You gotta play vinyl while bbq'ing in the park right?

The turntable is a vestax handytrax portable (http://www.kabusa.com/HANDYTRAX.htm), and the speaker system is a JBL On Tour (http://www.jbl.com/home/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=JBL%20ON%20TOUR&CheckProduct=Y). The built in speaker in the vestax has the sonic signature of a speakerphone, and somehow I think having a vibrating speaker in the "plinth" of the turntable is a bad idea :)

Ofcourse I only play used/worn records on this thing, no hoffman/gray mastered vinyl will get near this vinyl instrument of torture

The 45's you see here were given to me stacked on top of each other with no covers, dusty and scratchy. Around ten beatles singles, a couple of rolling stones and one elvis. Oh, and Mungo Jerry's In the Summertime :righton: They all played without skipping, much to my surprise. Might have something to do with the approx 4g tracking force...

Ofcourse lugging a record player and heavy viunyl to the park is totally unnecessary in this ipod age, but that just makes it cool. My friends love it!

That cool, but what kind of beer were you drinking?

Seriously, that looks fun.

I think if you packed a real audiophile table you would benefit in two ways: 1. exercise from the extra weight, and 2. the spiked feet would couple better to the ground. :D

Somehow I fear that the audible gains from a real turntable would be lost in the higher ambient noise from the generator needed to power it :)

The beer is the norwegian brand Frydenlund in a handy 0,33 litre can :righton:
