View Full Version : Any software to remove echo?
I have looked and tried with Adobe A 2.0 to no avail..want to "restore" audience recordings for my personal enjoyment. Was wondering if one could calculate the delay of the live venue by giving artificial delay opposite #s with software should it cancel it out?

No, reverb doesn't work that way. This has been asked many times on Usenet on rec.audio.pro. I think there's a way to use the C4 compressor within Waves (which will work as a VST or DirectX plug-in on most Windows machines, and TDM & RTAS for Pro Tools to minimize reverb, but it can never be completely eliminated. That, plus manual automation gain-envelope tweaking, is about all you can do.
You could also ask over on the Adobe Audition user group, but I think you'll get the same response.

Do you mean that you are recording bands in the audience and want a closer perspective?
Buy the cd .
Bribe the PA mixer for a feed from his desk.
Sit as close to his position when bootlegging.
Last 2 dangerous.
Recordings from the audience will always sound loose unless you use a very directional mike array.
Fixing in post is not an option
