FYI.
Yesterday I was treated to Mile Davis Video of original Studio 61 Kinda Blue and covers of Brubeck, etc...all black and white but in Stereo - amazing...to see the performances as they were recorded live and here. The sound was everywhere, lots of diff. horn sections and amazing bass. Find it and see it. Public Library - 30 min.
Then I saw Ark Blakey and Jazz Messsengers in MONO PCM 48Khz 16 bit on DVD - amazing - all b&W - in Belguim - some lost concert in a great auditorium.
They were all clustered together and the sound was incredible.
- 60 min.
Then last, the Modern Jazz Quartet who have all passed on, this was a show in 1989 in a live stage - amazing Vibrophone and Bass.
- This was in DTS 5.1 Sourround - WOW I was right there.
What is interesting for me is I have never seen a live Jazz performance so this was very close and personal.
Anyway, if you can find these are your Library, I highly recommend.
The MONO one was a real treat, very focused sound.
