I've seen a lot of discussion here about various cables, but I do not recall reading anything about the merits of the various toslink cables on the market.

I have my eye on THIS (http://www.amazon.com/6ft-Toslink-Mini-Cable/dp/B000FMXKC8/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6/102-0682624-2198555?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1178893115&sr=8-6) cable to use in THIS (http://www.stevehoffman.tv/forums/showthread.php?t=113041) system.

Are there any audible differences realized by using different brand toslink cables? :help:

That is a start
Its nylon
there are better cables .

However if using a Mac the optical
out (mini toslink) is 24Bit
Does your Dac decode 24Bit?
If so enable.
Also in I-Tunes Preferences
disable crossfade and sound check
and audition sound enhance.
Dont use more than the first
partition.

If 24bit apple lossless is not good
enough audition better toslink cables.

I have three different Toslink cables and they all sound slightly different. It's not enough to be concerned about....

Kimber, QED and the glass cable that's sold on eBay. I think the QED is best but the differences are so slight, I don't care which one I use.

The one in your link is a mini toslink? I did not know they had mini cables!

Yes; it is a mini connector on one end (to connect to the digital output on the Airport Express) and a standard connector on the other end (to connect to the input on a DAC).

Yup, I remember they started using those as combo Line/Coaxial outputs on portable CD players and minidisc recorders years ago.
