On one of my home systems I have some Paradigm Titan speakers inside and some in-ground no-name Omnidirectional 8 ohm 80 watt speakers outside. My problem is that when we entertain the indoor speakers are significantly louder than the outdoor speakers.

Is there anything simple I can place in between the speaker terminals on my amp and my Paradigm speakers that would let me lower the volume w/o sacraficing the quality too much (a little is okay)? I'd like something with a bypass switch for most situations when I'm only listening to music inside and don't want any type of filters between my amp and speakers.

Thanks.

Any resistor in series w/ the indoor spkrs. to lower their volume will destroy the damping factor of the amp as will a volume control.
That was my fear. Would I be better off finding a cheap 2nd amp for the outdoor speakers?

That would be best. Since they`re fairly efficient, a cheap amp might work out well.
Any suggestions for a small and cheap amp? Fidelity is not the highest concern for the outdoor speakers.

How about a decent speaker selector box like the ones put out by Niles Audio,
Adcom,DB Systems,?

How about an Adcom GFA-545 II. http://cgi.ebay.com/ADCOM-GFA-535-II-HI-CURRENT-STEREO-POWER-AMPLIFIER_W0QQitemZ150115823760QQihZ005Q QcategoryZ39783QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQ cmdZViewItem

Russound has a two pair selector/ volume control box. The volume controls are the autoformer type and will affect the sound quality some, but not a ton. Also, for serious listening, turn the volume control all the way up on the Titans and turn off the other pair. This pretty much takes the autoformer out of the loop and your Titans should sound fine.
