View Full Version : DCC out of the Gold CD business?
On page 6 of the latest issue of Music Direct's catalog is stated, :Attention collectors! DCC and their mastering engineer, Steve Hoffman, have remastered many great recordings, but it appears that impressive run is over and DCC will never issue another gold CD."
To what extent is this statement accurate? Inquiring minds want to know. stevegbaird@home.com

Michael from "ICE":
Well I guess it depends on who you want to believe. Music Direct wants their buyers to believe DCC is out of biz so they can jack up the prices and make more money. On the other hand, DCC did recently get a new president, I see they have a nice new board up at their web site, and Steve Hoffman has said on the site that DCC will be pressing new discs. He has also mentioned details about what bands will be next. I think DCC will be back. Why should I believe Music Direct?
Mike
and our Pal Luke P. reprinted from ICE:
"I don't know if this is true or not.
>Music Direct is stating that DCC will
>print No more gold discs."
Which is a total farce, considering someone at
Music Direct even told me DCC would probably
be reissuing some titles early next year. Why they
would put that in their catalog is beyond me...

Always happy to give my opinion! I'm glad I used a logical argument rather than attacking in vicious rabid dog manner like I usually do. The rumormongers tend to get on my nerves.

That's Capt. Luke to you Private Ben!! :D
Mike, I resent your name calling. I am not a rumor monger. I posted the question in good faith, citing the source completely and precisely. In the future, I would appreciate it if you got your facts straight before you started attacking someone.
Oops, I'm sorry. It does seem inappropriate to me to post something like that on a company's board, but I guess that's just my opinion and I apologize again.
