I just acquired the DCC Everly Bros Cd.

All I can say is.......WOW. This absolutely blows away the same material on any other Cd. The acoustic guitar is so clean you can hear the string noise!!! At times the stand up bass feels like its in your living room.

Steve.....excellent job on this one...thanks for caring!!

Oh,,,by the way.....did you guys know that there are two different versions of Donna, Donna? just found that out tonite.

thanks, Mikey. Glad you like it. I'm partial to those guys myself. Nice music from an era long gone by.

Sigh.

Maybe we will do a matching LP.

Steve,

The Everly Brothers Cd is great!! I bought a copy when I was in the US this fall and I love it!! It should have sold more copies than it did. I try to convince people that your work is worth the money, but MP3s seem to be taking over the earth.
I walked around singing the songs from the Cd for weeks. I had to stop before my wife hurt me.
If you could do some Everly Brothers vinyl, I would defiantly buy it :)

Steve, rather than doing a "matching LP", why not do another High Resolution CD of stuff that wasnt on the first Cd?

Sort of a "DCC Vol 2".

I know that there are a bunch of other Everly Cds out there, but your set would be the best........and the audio rags would know it, and tell that to their readers.

Yes, we could do both....

Steve, if you did do a Vol 2, and it was mostly stereo from first gen master tapes, I think you would have a winner.

I'd buy it right now, and I'm sure everyone else on this board would too.

I dont love the Everlys enuff to buy the 4 Cd box set, but the two Dcc's would be perfect.

Know what I mean?

If you're referring to the song's appearance on both the "Date With" and "Gone Gone Gone" albums (4 years apart!), they're actually the same 1960 recording.:)

David, i dont know about those Lps because I dont have them, but I have two distinctly different versions of 'Donna, Donna".

Version one is the most common version , the version with a loud guitar part running thru the song, especially between the verses.
I believe this version is on the Arista Set, altho I no longer have it to check.

Version two is the odd one, instead of that guitar part, it has very loud piano 16th notes thruout the song. This may have been an alternate take that slipped out by mistake.

I can send an MP3 to anyone who wants to hear the piano version.
