Brand new CD won't rip in EAC secure mode: Worth exchanging?

There are absolutely no smudges or scracthes on it. It just takes well over an hour to rip each track in secure more, while burst mode produces unlistenable results. Plays fine though. Could it possibly get worse and become unplayable? (Assuming I take care of it of course.)

I've had a couple of these incidences, one I got refunded, the other I didn't. So it is worth a try I'd say.

I put it my other drive and ripped it from there and it worked fine. Should've thought of that before posting.
