How do you like my new tube amp? I made it myself. It has seven channels with 500 watts per channel. That's me holding a Svetlana SV6L6GC tetrode. Boy, that room gets hot.

What does your wife think of what ya did to your basement? Are you ever gonna be allowed to go back upstairs again? :)

The only time that my wife complains is when I turn the amp on. She gets really pissed because all the lights in the house dim. To be honest, she likes to sit in the "amp room" because it is so warm and has a nice cozy glow. Kind of like a fireplace.

She wasn't too happy about the 7 ton AC unit that I installed to cool the "tube room". On the other hand, we'll save money on our cooking costs. We plan on using the "tube room" as a huge convection oven.

Not sure what he's surrounded with, but another way to look at it, he's possibly sitting aorund a quarter-million dollars worth of tubes.
If they're desireable tubes, that would be a hell of a starter business!

They were'nt that expensive. I got then for a great price at Costco. They were sitting next to the 5 gallon jugs of pickles.

Johnny, I see we both have the same system! Another great advantage to this set-up/room is I can defrost several hundred pounds of meat in a few minutes... :)

P.S. Have you ever tried roasting some marshmellows on a stick, tons of fun. Also, try using the floor and a slab of metal to press some clothing, works like a charm...

It looks great, but just wait until one of those 1,400 signal tubes starts hissing. It'll take you weeks to roll the tubes!

I really like my Dads old Fisher Tube Amp. The thing did run hot and I found my self running back and forth to the electronics store testing tubes
about once a year. It was kind of fun trying match up sockets and settings on the tube tester.:)

My Fisher gets pretty hot.
I don't need a space heater in the summer. Last summer during the most brutal months I put in my old SS amp, I just couldn't take the heat! Sure missed the tube sound though.
