The good news: grabbed a pair at a thrift shop yesterday, and one sounds great!

The bad news: the other one's tweeter is dead.

Assuming it's blown, anybody know where I could find a replacement?

Sigh....

It may not be blown. It could just be the capacitors in the cross-over circuit.
I have a pair of model 6s that have the xame problem.

The good news: a pair of tweeters I picked up on eBay arrived today.

The better news: replacing the tweeter in my "sick" speaker cured the patient! :goodie:

Nice speakers, I had a pair when new but sold them to a friend when I bought The Large Advents. Always liked them.

My first "good speakers" were KLH Model Seventeens, purchased at the PX in Berlin. They served me well for 15 years and were passed on to my teenaged daughter. I replaced a woofer in one, tweeter in another.

Nice units.

Thanks for the link--that is one neat site! I think I hear this large sucking sound as another big chunk of my limited "free time" disappears into the 'Net....
