What a shock, what a waste! One of the finest, if under-rated, comedians out there. :shake:

Yeah.........too many deaths. 45 years old. He was a funny guy. I always liked him as a sidekick or "other" guy in shows or movies. Another talent lost. RIP

Eisenman said the caller told police: "My boyfriend shot himself in the face."

Jeni died at a nearby hospital.
:yikes:

That's so sad. He was very talented. I just saw an HBO special not long ago...

You have to wonder, don't you? How bad could things have been to commit suicide?

It reminds me of hearing of Jonathan Brandis' suicide a few years back. Totally shocking! Or; David Strickland, the co-star of 'Suddenly Susan' with Brooke Shields. I do remember that he was apparently going to jail due to cocaine possession, though.

Strange.

Depression.... Every minuet is hell; why should I open the curtains, when I will only have to close them again tonight. Why eat good food, you just chew it up and eliminate it later. Why get out of bed, I'm not doing anything special.
It really is a crippling disease.. :sigh:

This is truly horrible. I Loved his stand-up.

From the article, it does make me wonder if it was suicide. Was it suicide? An accident? Did HE shoot himself or was he shot be someone else? Whatever the truth is, it's incredibly sad.

I've gotta wonder why anyone with a shred of sensitivity for surviving friends and family would shoot themselves in the face. WTF? Take some sedatives, or something. Makes me question whether this was legitimately a "suicide".

A shock for sure to read this. I saw his stand-up act in South Florida in the late 90's and he was great! A very, very funny man.

"What kind of clown are you?"
"The crying-on-the-inside kind I guess."

Wow, this is shocking. RIP.

This is shocking. I think he was in "The Mask" with Jim Carrey? What a super nice guy he was. So sad.

I wonder if this is similar to other Hollywood "suicides" like Marilyn and George Reeves. The cops out there remind me of Toody and Muldoon.

A very sharp, consistently funny stand-up. No sign of depression in his work as far as I could see. Sad for all concerned. I will miss him.

Very sad news.

I never heard his standup, but I have an appearance he did on Stern with Gilbert Gottfried. Hilarious.

"Apparent suicide"

"His girlfriend called police Saturday morning and said 'My boyfriend shot himself in the face'".

I'll be cynical until I hear that it was definite suicide. People usually don't shoot themselves in the face. The side or back of the head, yes, but...

You mean you're surprised he didn't die immediately?
