I recently came across a conforms to "Orange Book II" standards code that was invoked on the packaging of CDR's that were displayed in an audio store.

Is anyone familiar with the "Orange Book II" standards and what it means
with respect to CDRs.

Hey Mud,

Thanks for doing the research and finding the Orange Book II Spec.

I think I've got it.

Orange Book II is applicable to CDRs and is a certification process for CDR
manufacturers to have their CDRs tested so that they meet the industry
standards.

The Orange Book II cerification process guarantees that participanting CDR manfacturers are in compliance with the standards.

The long and the short of this Standard protects the consumer.

If your CDR manufacturer is Orange Book II certified, you are purchasing a quality controlled CDR. In other words "Buy with Confidence".

Dave- I think this is a good thing.

Thanks again!
