Has anyone had any dealings with these amps? I just picked up a pair from a guy in Long Island and am quite impressed! The sound of these little puppies is great! Designed to use a EL-37 for the output (Mullard was the only company to produce this tube from what I understand), which is no longer made, it came with a set of 6L6GC from Sventlana. In my opinion (others can beg to differ), it knocks the sox off the ole Dyna ST-70 AND.... gives the HK Citation II a run for the money (fidelity not power. Sorry Jim McShane)!! The guy did a complete overhaul of it (I would have preferred to do my own), so that could be part of it. I have to wait to get the "Sams" on it to see if he changed any values.
Just l@@k'n for any feedback on it.
BTW, if anyone is interested, I discovered a way to gain back two of the low level inputs (Special & Tape Head) on the Dyna PAS2/3/2-3x for use on high level components.

Bill,
Are you sure it was designed to be used with an EL-37? That's a British tube, ya know. Every 80-AZ I've ever seen has had American 6L6GC's in it. Different voltage. The EL-37 would blow out the circuit eventually in there if not set up correctly.....
I've never heard the units but they look neat!

Hey Steve,
They sure do look neat! Sound even better. It has EL37 stamped right on it. I wonder how they would sound in comparison to the 6l6gc's? I've never heard em. Here's something for ya'll to look at.......

Hello! I'm interested in how to gain those Dyna inputs - tell us, please! :)

I will have to crack the preamp back open and do some step by step's. Basically, there are two halves to the selector switch. The first half goes directly to the Tape-Input switch on the front which in turn sends it to the Vol/Tone controls, the second, to the Phono stage amp. All I did was make all the sections of the switch "High Level", and took the Phono input right to the Phono stage. Then the out of the Phono stage goes to the switch. Had to move I think 6 wires. No other mods needed. I will try to get the specifics tonight.

Well, I just got a pair of these for a really good price that were gone thru and brought up to factory specs (one was missing a cage, if anyone happens to have one). Nice cosmetics.
A little smaller than the pictures would make them seem. Nice heavy iron on them.
Like Bill said, They sound great! It came with Sovtek 5881 in them but I'm going to try the GE 6L6GC's from the Mac to see how they sound.
A little "sweeter" than the Mac and nice Bass, (Actually a little tighter than the 240, probably due to the upgraded caps) They have tube rectification similar to the Mac 30's. They also have some useless (but cool looking) "Z-matic"and "Power Limiter" knobs and some neon lamps on the front to monitor power output.
Nice Little amps!
All in all, very nice looking and sounding monoblocs.

Hey Dean,
I owned the Fisher SA-15's for many years and found that they tend to run a bit hot.
It is a good idea to keep those babies running as cool as possible.
Radio Shack carries 6" computer type fans that will run on a minimum
of 3.2 volts each. The fans are around $16 each.:)
