anyone know anything about the new Oasis documentary 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down,' other than the blurb in NME? Anyone see it in November when it screened? As an Oasis fan, and music doc nut, I am really interested in it. thanks!

The trailer for it was included on the two-disc/dvd version of the greatest hits collection STOP THE CLOCK. It looks cool and covers Oasis on a peak tour. I'd love to see it.

I had tix to see a screening in Chicago, but couldn't make it. They haven't announced a DVD release yet, i've heard late spring.
You might check out YouTube, I believe there's a bunch of clips from the film, if not the whole thing.
Cheers :righton:

I was at the CMJ New York screening with Noel Gallagher. It's a GREAT film that had me laughing out loud at some of the Spinal Tap-esque moments scattered throughout.
I also saw another version up in Toronto that was SEVERLY edited from the New York version. I sincerely hope the New York version sees the light of day. The shortened version cut out a lot of what set up the action and consequently more than half the jokes fell flat.
Anyway....I have yet to hear anything about a possible release date.

In a recent interview, Noel says this should be released on DVD later this year for the holidays... he wants to do a commentary track.

Here is the news-
http://www.nme.com/news/oasis/30282
Release date Oct. 29 (not sure if it will be the exact same date for us here in the U.S.)
The entire band has recorded a commentary... and a second disc will have the Manchester Stadium homecoming show from July 2, 2005.
For more news, there is

According to another article, it will be in surround sound as well.

Yeah, this one will be really nice. I have seen the LDSMD already on TV and it's not really what I wanted to see. I want to see Oasis in Manchester 2005. That was a great show from what I've heard.

Nov. 6 for the U.S., I have read that it is the edited 60 minute version... but I have also read that it's the two disc version released overseas.

Amazon is listing it as a 1 disc release. I cancelled my order.

Is the UK version region 0 or do you need to have a player that will play PAL?

PAL, NTSC, SECAM etc. are independent of region codes. Japan, for example, which is region 2 like the UK, uses NTSC.
According to Amazon UK, the 2 DVD set is PAL and region 2 encoded, so your player would have to be multi region or region free and the TV and player would have to be able to display PAL. Certainly, over here, with DVD players and modern tellys being PAL/NTSC compatible as a matter of course, the latter, (PAL/NTSC), wouldn't be a problem. Most, but not all DVD players can be made region free fairly easily, but we're not allowed to discuss this.

Possible good news for us here in the U.S.
I checked Best Buy's site, and they have the two disc... and at amazon, a couple of reviewers say that it is the two disc as well, so I guess the original info was wrong.

It finally arrived and I watched the first disc already.
First of all, the packaging here in the US is different from the UK version. The Us version I got comes in a regular plastic DVD, instead of the nicer cardboard package released in the UK.
It is an honest documentary of a middle of the road rock band. Nothing shocking, nothing revelatory. You can tell that Oasis better times have gone by, and they are probably living as much from old glories as from their new albums. The band looks bored throughout the documentary.
It really is a Noel and Liam documentary. The rest of the guys are just ghosts in the background that I dont think say two words on the entire documentary.
I think rabid Oasis fans should enjoy it, but it would be kind of boring for the general public. I liked it, but not as much as I thought I was going to like it.
