I just got a new HDTV earlier today (Olevia 226V) and while doing a channel scan I noticed a channel I'd never heard of: The Tube. This is what a music channel should be. They actually play music videos and nothing but music videos. It reminds me of how I used to be glued to MTV and VH1 when they actually played music. Just in the past 30 minutes I've watched The Who, Jewel, Lenny Kravitz, James Brown and M (Pop Muzik). I'm hooked!

It's a pretty cool channel. No commercials and some pretty interesting videos from days gone by.

Great channel, but they have started to include some commercials lately.
Never seen any Tull on there...

Is this available on Time Warner? If so, what channel?

Yes, I started a thread about this last year but it got no responses. I don't think it's on many cable channels. From what I've been led to believe it's only available as a subcarrier on selected OTA digital channels. Here it is on 5.5. What I find odd is that there is no 5.2, 5.3, or 5.4.
I think I even noticed some 5.1 audio the other day, but it's possible that it was derived from stereo.

If your TWC is like mine, it's up in the 900s.

if the TC must be on, I make sure that it is turned to the tube. Channel 250 on my comcast network for those keeping score. Great videos played in a really random order! Could be my TV, but the sound isn't that great on this channel.

The sound here was pretty bad when the channel started up, but now it seems much better. I guess it could depend on how much bandwidth your local digital channel allocates for it.

There was a thread on this earlier:

I like the fact that their site for buying music lets you filter by SACD, DVD-A, etc.

This sucks, The Tube has ceased operations. :(
I just flipped the channel over to them a few minutes ago and was greeted with the following on my screen:
The Tube Music Network has ceased operations.
I went to their website and it has this:
Dear friend of THE TUBE Music Network,
We regret to inform you of the fate that has befallen The Tube Music Network. October 1, 2007 The Tube ceased its national broadcast.
Viewers, Artists, Music Companies, Investors, Business Partners, TV stations, Cable companies, Advertisers , Friends and our creative partners @Radical Media - your support of The Tube has always been highly valued and appreciated. The collective efforts of this team, fueled by the letters we received from viewers, sustained THE TUBE as it struggled through the financial limitations that ultimately contributed to its incapacitated state.
Thank you for inviting The Tube Music Network into your life.
Sincerely,
The Tube Music Network staff
What a shame, they were the only music channel around that was good.

Well, that's why they folded - the good ones always fail.:realmad:
