I'd love to hear more about this (assuming it's not a joke). I've always wondered how well an all-acoustical record player, made with modern technology and materials, could be made to sound. Of course there are going to be limits, and it'd still probably be hell on the records (i.e. not practial for vinyl, if OK for shellac). Still, it's an interesting thought.
It's amazing how good the best of the acoustics did manage to sound. (Ever hear those Viva Voce albums from Nimbus?)
