Last night I listened to the 80's CD of the "All Time Greatest Hits Of Roy Orbison" (the full album, not the part 1 or 2 versions) and it was horrible. I've been listening Steve's vinyl version a lot and was lazy and threw on this cd. It was muddy, unfocused, crap. In the past I used to love this CD. Steve, you're spoiling us...

I don't have the LP, but I do have Steve's CD of "All Time Greatest Hits Of Roy Orbison" and it is just fantastic. When I have people over to my house I put on "Falling" from the Orbison CD and then I say: "Wait till you hear this". It's fun to watch their mouth drop in amazement.

The original Monument LP version is not too bad either. I guess that's a reflection upon Bill Porter's skills as an engineer. Steve's DCC version is still the best to have, but it's fun to compare it with the original Monument one (which is still readily available in used record stores).
